Misty Bellard, Technology Teacher, said, “Landen Tomlinson is the kind of student that is constantly pushing himself to improve. In doing so, he pushes the students around him to improve as well. He is definitely a leader by example. He always puts forth his best effort in all of his assignments. While in my BIM 2 class, he was not satisfied with earning the core Microsoft Certifications. He was determined to earn the Expert level certifications. In the end, he earned the Master level certification passing all tests that were offered to him. During the hurricane Harvey relief efforts, I was privileged to work alongside Landen at a local distribution center. He showed character and compassion in his efforts to assist those in need. He is a well-rounded student that will accomplish whatever he sets his mind to doing. He is most deserving of this honor.”

Selena Hennigan, Math Teacher, said, “Landen is a student who intellectually goes above normal classroom expectations and pushes himself to meet a challenge.  In Honors Algebra 2, he consistently maintained an intrinsic motivation that kept him at the top of his class.  Yet his accomplishments go well beyond the classroom.  He is a talented baseball player and leader on the field with his teammates.  OHS is thankful for the character and values he consistently displays in all areas.  Landen, take all you have accomplished and run with it!  Your future is in your hands!”

Landen plans on attending a university to earn a degree in chemical engineering.
