Cameron Brooks Named BCHS Student of the Month

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the March Student of the Month for Bridge City High School is Cameron Brooks.  Cameron was presented his certificate and gift bag by Ambassador/Board Member Rani Dillow, Loan Originator for Westin Mortgage, at the March Networking Coffee hosted by COS Printing.  He received gift certificates and gifts from:  COS Printing, Wellspring Credit Union, Tiger Rock Martial Arts of Bridge City, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Sabine River Ford, Neches Federal Credit Union, Bridge City Walmart, Best Day Spa, 5Point Credit Union, Candace Mulhollan RE/MAX ONE Agent, and Las Rosas Mexican Restaurant.

Cameron is the son of Beth and Jeff Brooks.  He is ranked #7 of 187 with a GPA 4.64.  Cameron’s Awards and Honors include:

  • Texas Music Scholar Award
  • 4 – Year TMEA All-Region Band Member – 5A
  • 2 – Year TMEA Area Qualifier – 5A

Tami Goss, Director of Bands, said, “Cameron is an extremely talented and gifted musician. His level of musicianship is second to none, and his work ethic is highly impressive. He has been a natural leader in the band room and on the marching field and has been a wonderful example for his peers to follow.”

Hannah Landry, Math Teacher, said, “I have been very pleased and honored to have had Cameron as a student in PreAP Pre-Calculus and currently in AP Calculus.  He demonstrates qualities of leadership, responsibility, and self-motivation daily in class.  Cameron is an asset to his classmates as he is always willing to help them when they have a question.  His strong math abilities are also evident in his participation and success in the UIL calculator, number sense, general math, and science teams.  Cameron is intelligent and a very hard worker, an extremely prosperous combination.”

Cathy Riley. English Department Head, Bridge City High School Strutters Director, said, “CAMERON BROOKS is absolutely one of my favorite students because his calm demeanor and unique perspective on life is quite refreshing in today’s classroom.  He focuses on accuracy and details as well as perceives a holistic approach to thinking.  Being an extraordinary writer, BROOKS earned a 4 on the AP Language and Composition Exam, and his essay work exudes intellect and eloquent syntax.  One might see BROOKS performing in the Bridge City Band, Texas State solo and ensemble contest, and TMEA All-Region Band. He is a Texas Music Scholar, a stellar saxophonist, and has received numerous awards in music. His gentlemanly qualities demonstrates a positive influence on others uncompromising his morals and integrity and is a role model to be emulated. I am so proud of BROOKS, and I am honored to teach him. HUZZAH, BROOKS!”

When asked about her future plans, Cameron said, “I plan to major in Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University.”
